white deposits in rad

Just bought a Camaro, the rad is completely dry and there is flaky white deposits on the metal inside. It similar to calcium buildup. Flakes off to the touch for the most part. Has anyone seen this before? I did a search but couldn't find anything... would a flush get rid of this crud?

Re: white deposits in rad

You could try it I think its just an alkali build-up though. Just run the flush and see. You probably dont want to run anything to caustic cause it will run though the engine. The flush should be cool.
