Hi there...I think my radiator was blown yesterday. I was outside test driving my car and suddenly a BIG leak was coming from the car with coolant. It was not on the radiator hoses but somewhere on the radiator. I think it is time to change the radiator anyway since it is 22years old.
I have been looking on many radiators on the internett but I am still scratching my head on what to choose. Does anyone of you have anything to recommend?..What about the the Summit radiator. Is that a good choice?..
My engine was a stock 87 LG4 engine that I converted to TPI last winter.
So I need a radiator with: transmission cooling lines and a outlet for heater hose...I also have a single electric fan.....Any help here would be appreciated..
got mine at kragens for 110 bucks aluminum with plastic tank. its bad ***. just tell them you need a radiator for 85' trans am. its will fit your application. cooler lines, heater hose, the works ....hell for hundred buck why not. be sure to use distilled water in the 50/50 mix, Radiator will last forever.
Looks like great radiators to me..The price is also reasonable. I see that the radiators are 3 rows. What is my stock radiator?..Just curious about this row's thing. Is it better with 2 or even better with 3?..Can someone explain a little to me. That would be highly appreciated...
those do seem good and fairly priced. basically, the more rows, the better it is able to keep cool.

this one is $90.00 and it has a limited lifetime warranty which means if this thing breaks, you can pretty much get it replaced free of charge.

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking o buying a 3row radiator but I am not sure wich one to choose because of "alllll" the posts around here
The thing is, that when the winter is coming my car is no longer stock. bigger cam, headers and a CHIP tuning is going to step in so about 250HK ++ is coming to my engine..
What kind of radiator do you recommend then?..The best for me would be a direct-fit one..
A 3 row would probably work just fine. I don't really know any brands or anything though. I do know BeCool makes a very nice radiator/duel fan set up http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/ca...diatorkit.aspx
but most people don't want to fork out the $1300 bucks for it and its pretty over kill for your application.
I would say a 3 row will work just fine. I know a lot of people upgrade their engines and still don't have a problem with cooling on the stock radiator. you could probably even go to a 350 or 383 on the regular 3 row and still be just fine.

ya dude, thats like what i got, that lifetime warranty crap, and shocks. i heard koni shocks were lifetime too

This is the one that you would need for your car.There's a 2 year warranty on them.
Hey quys just a quick question, I have an 83 camaro 305 TBI crossfire, and i changed some belts and doing so when i took off the radiator cover there were all kinds of spots where coolant had leaked a little from the top and bottom, I was looking at the radiatior and is it wierd that i only have 1 tranny cooler line. Im serious, there is only one going to the top of the radiator, now i didn't look under the car but i could see the whole radiator from the top when the cover was off and there is not 2 cooler lines.... Is that bad?? i realy appreciate the help guys, Thanks
Last weekend I had a coolant leak which I hoped was the lower hose. However: it was the radiator leak in the lower right corner and replaced it with a stock replacement. Now looking at the old radiator and the cause of my hot running with the A/C, was the complete blockage of the cooling fins with caked on gunk behind the A/C condensor. Now with the STOCK replacement, I am running 20 deg cooler with the A/C now.
So what stuff did you ended up with? How did your radiator go? Did you get some nice warranty?
Long time since I have checked the Thread I see. Thanks for asking. I have bought a new radiator that is on it's way now. I bought a new Champion radiator that should have direct fit. The Radiator also have about the same dimensions as the Radiator I mentioned from Radiator classic...Here is a link to the radiator: 3 Row Champion Radiator
