GOT ME STUMPED A/C

I have a 91 z28 350 tpi my problem is one fan wont come onand compressor wont shut off. I checkeked fan motor is good. PUT some freon in it still didnt work replaced high side switch no go replaced cycling switch didnt work. the compressore wonj shut off even with control in off position only way I can get it off is to unplug switch mounted in compressor. any help appreciated

Check your HVAC panel’s compressor switch.

It might be broken and locked in the closed position.



As to the fan you need to find out if it’s the “normal” one or the one associated with the AC.

The is the one associated with the a/c can bypass high pressure switch and it will run. T he other switch your talking about where is it located ?

The switch I’m talking about is the one you access from the cockpit when you turn on the A/C or front defrost.

Use a meter to make sure it’s operating properly.
