Strange problem with my cooling fan, It has a hypertech fan switch that turns on at 200 and off at 185, This has been in there over a year and no problems. Well recently Ive started to have a problem with the fan, The car heats up to temp and the fan kicks on at the correct time and it cools down, Then the fan turns off and then the car heats up and it doesnt kick the fan back on this time around. I can turn on the A/C and the fan kicks on and turn it off and it will stay on for a little while and then it turns off and the car gets hot again. Does this sound like a problem with the fan switch or the relay?

I would start with seeing if the fan switch is still grounding the second time.
At the time the fan should kick on again, pull the wire and ground it. If the fan runs, the circuit is fine. Test for resistance to ground through the switch (at same temp, no fan on), if a multimeter shows noting (open circuit), the switch is bad.

I never had any luck with the fan switches, from cheap to hypertech they all were crap.
I installed a seperate fan controller from Flex-a-lite and never looked back - it's been great for 3 years now, fully adjustable, manual toggle control options, always works like it should.
