Temperature gone up

Since yesterday, the coolant temperature has gone up maybe 5 degrees when on the highway, and too much around town. It used to stay at a constant 140 or so, but I have seen the needle move since. Around town, it is now at over 160. Coolant is full and I poured coolant in the tank. No leaks. It has new both coolant sensors, new antifreeze, thermostat replaced a couple years ago, but wasn't driven till later in the year. I just cleaned my air filter last night (was black).

Re: Temperature gone up

I know it is, but I keep reading about people switch to 180.
anyway, I put a 170 thermostat in back when I thought those tbichips would do me good and haven't changed it since. I think it's weird how it suddenly goes up.

Re: Temperature gone up

its cold now. I installed i think a 180 t stat in may, because the old tstat stuck open and never closes. Now i got to get another one. same issue 6 months later. im going to do 180 again, different brand. i guess its better its stuck open then shut in my case.
