Blower motors interchangeable?? (AC vs non-AC)

Just a quick question. I have an AC car (88 sport coupe) and plan to install an AC delete heater box. Can I keep my blower motor or should I get one with the delete box. Thanks

More ?'s to come, in the middle of the 305 to 383 swap!!

Welcome to TGO, NC. IIRC, the motors are different. A search is always a good idea as there aren't many questions on TGO that haven't been asked and answered.

Re: Blower motors interchangeable?? (AC vs non-AC)

I got my non ac heater box recently and the stock AC blower motor does line up. The vent hose hole might be off a bit but the screw holes do seem to line up...

You can make it work. I remember someone did it, and I think one hole didn't line up or something.

I believe it was something about the fan cage that didn't fit.

Yup motors will work but you have to swap to shorter fan cage.

Re: Blower motors interchangeable?? (AC vs non-AC)

There are two motors and two wheels:

Motor without AC is part #PM 102
Motor with AC is part # PM 111
(You'd think that if only the wheel required swapping, a single motor would be adequate for both boxes, but....)

Blower Motor wheel without AC is part #35602
Blower Motor wheel with AC is part #35601

Both motors were available at my local Autozone (didn't check for the wheels).

EDIT: A bit more info that might prove useful to the OP:

Awesome, thanks JamesC for part numbers. I'll see if my autozone has it.
