Re: DUEL FAN TO LARGE SINGLE FAN?

I agree with TTOP350. I just had to replace my single fan with a dual because the single wasn't pulling its weight. Probably save you some cooling issues if you stick with the dual.

Re: DUEL FAN TO LARGE SINGLE FAN?

Well one of the fans makes noise when its running.the other thing is they or hooked to a toggle switch, which i hate.i bought an adjustable thermostat from summit to run the fans to bypass stupid switch but it will not work,it worked for about a week then quit sent it back got another one and it did the same thing,i think one of the fans is grounding out or somthing wich is causing the thermostat relay not to work.basically i think if i get a single fan my thermostat would work properly and fix my problem?!!

Re: DUEL FAN TO LARGE SINGLE FAN?

I have a 92 Z vert and I did away with my dual fans and went with a 3500CFM single 16 fan (puller) and I also installed a 14 pusher installed onto the a/c condenser. I have a trans cooler as well on the lower passenger side of the condenser and I have a 5.5 inch fan installed on it. I have relays for each of them and switches for all of them inside the ashtray lid. I have a be cool radiator and a special made lower air dam that is larger and made of aluminum. It drags a little on some places where the front gets low but its all about air flow. The taurus fan is supposed to be greatest thing since sliced bread but I haven't found one yet. I take these fans and put a bead of gasket maker around them and attatch them right against the radiator. One of the flaws of our two fan system is that air leaks from around the fan blades themselves without a shroud. They are not as effecient as the ones with a built in shroud like the all the new cars have.

Ok, sounds like you have a bad fan motor. I'd replace both while there.
The adj switch may not work with both fans unless your using the relay ground side to control them.
If its hooked to the positive side of relays you may burn that one switch up.
2 fans need 2 of everything, ideally.
Also if your trying to run it cooler, you need a Tstat, correct fan switch in the pass head and the temp in the chip program lowered.
grab a factory service manual or factory wiring diagram and fix it properly. It will work.
