Unknown Heat

Okay, so i posted in here a while ago and i get confused reading this. When i'm driving and everything is set to off, and the temp control is set to cool, hot air comes in and its hitting my legs. It's really warm too. So i've just been setting my A/C to max so the air doesn't come in.

My problem is here. My A/C doesn't work, so in setting it to max, warm air still comes in through the vents, that are supposed to be sending cool air in. I have to get the A/C fixed. But what i'm doing is blocking A LOT of hot air coming in, by letting A SMALL AMOUNT of hot air coming in. I want to FIX the lot of hot air that's coming in and hitting my legs.

So I need to trouble shoot. When the temp control gauge is set on cool. And everything is off. The hot air is coming in, i'm sweating in my car. When set to MAX no air comes in through the bottom, but through the vents, and i need to fix my A/C. But i just want to have a ride, where if everything is off, i don't sweat in my car, and i can drive it without the air flowing in through the bottom. Can anyone help? And if something needs clarification ill try my best.

I too have the hot air coming in the cabin but in the winter the it's cold, or at least cooler air. Our cars naturally vent air into the cabin from the outside. I'm not exactly sure where the pickup is, but I'm pretty sure it's in the engine bay area. There is no way to shut this off.

As for the AC, when set to vent, do you get any cold air at all?

No cold air. Like i said the A/C doesn't work so it won't be cold air at all. I'm just trying to fix the stupid problem of the hot air coming in. Because it turns my car into a sauna.

Like I said, it's an open vent, how the car vents fresh air into the cabin, no way to close it off that I know of. Could be that your vents aren't working quite right and it's full on all the time open? I know on mine, there is always air coming in at my feet when I'm driving, even with everything off.

Re: Unknown Heat

With my heater controls turned to off, I get no outside air coming into the car.

Re: Unknown Heat

I was told it's not supposed to come in, unless i have like the vent on or something. When i put A/C on MAX well it doesn't come in anymore. But like i said turned off it comes in? Idk if that's right. It's never happened in any other car i've ever drove
