Best Radiator to buy? 305-355 conversion

I have been seeing some recent posts that have concerned me about champions 3 core radiator.

I am planning a relatively mild 355 with vortec heads and qjet. Probably 310hp or so....

I want to upgrade the radiator and I have a stock electric fan, may consider dual fans as well.

Any thoughts on radiator recommendations ?

Chuck

Re: Best Radiator to buy? 305-355 conversion

Since my aluminum radiator sprung a leak, I'm back to using my factory radiator with my 355, same HP you're looking to run. I have a single electric fan and zero issues keeping the car cool.

that said, my neighbor just picked up an aluminum radiator from Griffen Radiators for $200.00 for his 67 GTO and he really likes it.

3 votes for stock. Make sure everything is in good shape and you should be good to go.

All I did was switch to a 180 degree thermostat and a 210 degree fan switch

Stock with dual fan setup, although it stayed plenty cool with the single fan.

As long as you have a good tune and a clean cooling system, the stock setup is perfect.

Re: Best Radiator to buy? 305-355 conversion

360 ci in the 380 fwhp range, never had a problem with the stock 1 fan and radiator set up.
Also using a 180° stat and a 200°/190° on/off fan switch.

Another vote for stock.
