Holley Commander 950 on TPI

I was looking around on the net and seen where Holley offers the Commander 950 with an adapter harness to plug into the stock GM harness and sensors. It is user programmable. I was wondering if anyone else has looked into using this setup and if it would be worth the money.

Any input is appreciated.

Forget it....I just browsed thru this forum and discovered that all of the topics have very little posts. I guess I will go find an answer elsewhere.

Thanks

I have it. Yes, it does plug into GM sensors. Is it worth it ? Well to me it was. Others on this board may tell you different. I find it far more convenient than burning chips. You can adjust all settings while someone else drives. Downside, no TCC or dash function control. Total cost about $900 with optional cooling fan control & knock sensor. Less than the $1500 for Accel DFI. Go to www.chevytalk.com on their EFI board one of the moderators there works for Holley & is very knowledgable on the 950 system.

Rick,

The 950 removes the MAF and replaces with a map sensor right?

The thing that pissed me off about the 950, and the accel setup was you bought the ECM, then had to pay extra for the management software. Thats so lame.

All Commander 950 systems come with software and communications cable. There are no hidden costs.

It will convert it to a speed density system. You can remove the MAF. The kit comes with a MAP sensor and other sensors too.

Interesting. I thought you had to buy the software. Maybe that was the accel then..

It comes with software & cable (Accel does not & it is lame) harness, ECM, heated O2 sensor, coolant sensor, MAP sensor, air inlet temp sensor, power relay, fuel pump block off plate (don't know why). I reused my TPS & IAC, they are not included. All the sensors are GM type & easy to find replacements. I had to modify the harness because of the Super Ram & where I mounted the ECM.

QUestion about the 950. Can you still retain the factory ecu to retain the dash function and all the other things the holley does'nt control?

Re: Holley Commander 950 on TPI

I dont have the egr anymore anyhow. I got the stealthram. I cant get anyone to burn the prom correctly so thats why I want to go with the 950. Any other feedback would be great from the people that have used this. The goods and bads would be very helpful on this system. thanks.
