Are the 7730 and 6344 ECMs the same?

I was told that the GM tuned port ECM 16196344 was the same ECM as the 7730 is that right if so can you use the some chip and everything on it?

JD,

It is an updated version of the '730. I have one in my car and all '730 software works just fine.

Regards,

JD,

It is physically the same as the '730, wire harness connectors and all. The difference is internal and is just an upgrade, all '730 functions are the same. It probably has more capabilities than a '730 but I don't have that info.

Regards,
Gary Anderson

There is also another upgraded number being 16198262. Same thing just better. That's why it's an upgrade.

It's an updated number which means they probably updated a few parts or made the PCB a better design. It's just an update, it doesn't do anything special or doesn't do any other functions.
