Well, I was just going to check on my 89' ECM I was planing on putting in my 85 TPI car, and low and behold...... there were several small magnets stuck to the outside out side metal part of the ECM... is it screwed?(i have no idea how they got there) I don't want to wire everyting in just to find out it wont work.

IIRC they are required to polarize the flux capacitor.
In all honesty I don't think that they hurt anything. It is kinda strange that they would be there. Just pull them off and stick them on the frig.

In the .A version.
In the later series, they're using them to align the electrons to better flow match the new ion pattern generated by the fuel line magnets.
It is NASA based technology according to their web site.

Ummm. Mr. Scott has retired. I can get either La Forge or DATA to help you though...

Don't ya'll know that those magnets were used to fix a problem with stray electrons that were breaking out of their bonds when going around the sharp 90* turns in the pc board traces?
