For some reason I/we cannot find the ALDL connector in my Camaro. It is not hanging down under the dash. I have a 1989 IROC Z28. If anyone could help me i would really appreciate it! Thank in advance!
GM originally put a snap-on rectangular plastic cover over the ALDL connector when these cars were new. By now, they're long since gone on most cars, but perhaps yours still has one. Look for a black rectangular piece of plastic about 1"x3" -- if you find one, pry it off, and you'll find the ALDL connector.
Otherwise, perhaps the mounting screws were removed at some point, and it was simply tucked up under the dash?

It may also be hidden up next to the fuse box. Real hard to see there. Just to the right of the fuse box which is under the dash on the far left of the interior.
