i am installing my xfi system in now and i was wondering if anyone has pic's of there install. i am having trouble on where i should put the main harness and was wondering if anyone has pics of there install. thanks

maybe a better question to ask is did anyone fabericate there harness to make it fit better or is that the only way to get it to work. i cant see this harness fitting correctly. also where do all of the connecters go to. i see a bunch of connectors and i have no idea on where they are supose to go. any help would be great. thanks

Let me tell you first hand after installing a Gen 6 DFI system, if you don't have clear instructions for installation, or you don't know exactly where each connector goes when the harness is out of the car, don't start.

There are some things you can feel your way through while installing for the first time, like headers or something. Aftermarket DFI is not one of those things. You need help if you dont know where the wires and connectors go.

The fast harness should be labeled I believe, and all the connectors are different anyway so they fit the sensor they are meant for. There is a harness avalable that has no end installed so you can cut everything to length but your probably better off with the pre-made harness. you may have to change one or 2 connectors to match your sensors plug.

I would put the ecu under the dash somewhere. make sure you run the main power leads directly to the battery both pos and neg.

but I agree with Dzhezkov, dont start untill you know where things go for sure.

i know where things go but the harness fits like crap. i just wanted to see pics of how people installed the harness into there car. the only way that i can see this thing fitting into the car is by hacking up the harness and adding to it. if i install the xfi unit in the car by the kick panal where the stock ecm is than how else is the harness going to plug into everything. just wanted to know what you guys did for your install and how you routed the harness.

a typical install would have the harness passing through the firewall behind the engine usually favoring the passinger side. that should give you plenty of slack to route it. mock the harness up on the motor and pick a spot to penitrate the firewall so the ecu will end up under the dash or over towards the kick panel if its long enough. depending on what intake you have, you can run the wires right up the middle of it and drape left and right to the injectors ect.

thanks for the input DJ406. Did you use the fast harness in your car. the harness is a universal harness and it just fits like total crap (#301100) i talked to fast and they said to exchange it for (#301105) which has long ends that you make your own connections. i will be sending the harness back tomorrow so i will wait and see what happens.

I mounted mine towards the driver side and routed the wires along the bottom of the dash. I mounted the actual XFI box in place of the stock ECM with minor mods to the stock bracket. I'ts all hidden and can't be seen.

well i didnt like the way the harness fit so i returned it and got the harness that you make your own ends. hopefully with that i can make it fit better.
