Yes you can use the DFI. Is it a Gen 6?

To get the car started you should go into the base fuel map and pull 10-12% fuel out across the board. Timing should not have much of an affect.

yep its gen 6... i just cant seem to find a wireharness for it :/ and dl the software already...now is it going to better than burning a PROM chip or it doesnt relly make any difference besides that DFI could be tuned easier (through laptop)...

Re: ACCEL DFI on L98 350

I assume you're talking about the harness from the laptop to the DFI?

Also, some may disagree but I like the tuneability of the DFI. I have a 406 in my TA with 11.0-1 compression and a solid roller cam that I pass emissions tests with. The only way I can accomplish this is through the quick and easy programming of the DFI.

I also use a stand alone wideband for accurate A/F ratios.

Re: ACCEL DFI on L98 350

yeah thats the harness im missing :/ now im trying to see if anyone has it for sale it seems like not much left out there since DFI gen 7 came out...unless that harness fits too (i doubt it)...i think thats the best thing about DFI is that you can change anything at anytime yourself even while you driving

It's like this, I can make more power quicker on the dyno with the dfi vs. the 7730 anyday. You can work the adjustments so fast that you can really surpass the stock ecu anyday. They do have something with the the stock computers now where you can make adjustments on the go I believe.

Re: ACCEL DFI on L98 350

i just realized that i might haveto rewire the whole car to have the DFI ecm installed...because the only thing i have from DFI is the ecm itself...asi understand it comes with its own wire harness incl injector wiring...i thought the only thing i need is the cable that hooks up to the laptop but apparently not unless im wrong

My dfi just has a harness to be a plug in play deal into your ecm location. No engine harness needed just your orignal harness.

Re: ACCEL DFI on L98 350

You don't need to replace the harness. You can use and adapter harness from White Racing http://www.whiteracing.com/complete.html or HorsePowerConnection.com (I guess they bought up Fast Track Performance) http://www.fasttrackperformance.com/ECUHarnesses.htm . I've always used the White Racing adapter harness myself. Either should also be able to help you with the Interface harness for the laptop.
