Differences between OBD-I and II
I need someone to tell me what the mechanical differences are between OBD-I and II i.e., components, differences of components from donor cars (f-body and b-body). thanx

OBD2 monitors a lot more than OBD1 does.
this isn't a complete list.
just off the top of my head, cats, evap system, how long it takes the engine to warm up, any other modules in the car, it controls shifts if it has an auto trans, the A/C clutch. depending on the OBD2 system, it may also control individual ignition coils.
on many vehicles the instrument cluster gets its signals from the PCM for MPH, RPM, temp & other things.

Youd have to convert over to a 96+ PCM + hardware/wire harness from a vehicle with a similar engine to what you currently have.
