Re: check engine light

SES bulb burned out? Fuse popped? There is a hidden fuse in the power feed under the hood. In line along the passenger side fender is a heavy wire. Near the front (battery) is a fuse in line with it. That feeds the ECM & fuel pump. Does the fuel pump run at key-on, engine-off for 2 seconds?

Re: check engine light

Good possibility it is the fuse in line with the wire. It feeds the fuel pump & ECM.

Re: check engine light

Warm the engine up first. Then shut off and connect a timing light to cylinder #1 (front left (drivers) side). May need to clean timing tab & damper to be able to see the marks.

Disconnect EST/BYPASS connector (right side near firewall, single wire with connector, tan with black stripe).

Start engine, get it to idle (it won't want to at first).

Read timing on damper with light and rotate distributor to 0 BTDC (for L03 TBI cars). Tighten distributor bolt, double check timing still at 0 BTDC.

Turn off engine, reconnect EST/BYPASS connector. Remove timing light, close hood.
