'7730 ecm with 4l80e

Anybody done a swap like this yet? I have the 700R4 right now and thinking about converting to the 4l80e....I know a standalone could be used but was just wondering if a '7730 could be made to work or would a 7427 need to be used with some modifications?

Re: '7730 ecm with 4l80e

a 7730 doesn't have enough outputs for an E-trans, plus i don't think the chip has enough free space for the E-trans code too.
to use the 7730, you would need a stand alone or the 427 to control the E-trans.
i believe HaulnA$$ can do a mod to the 7427 so it will properly control port fuel injection. you can send a PM to him and ask about it.

Re: '7730 ecm with 4l80e

Yea....I didn't think it did but with my combination plus nitrous...I believe I'll be pushing the 700r4 to the limits of a 4000 lb truck. Plus, I don't want to mess with the governor anymore trying to get the right shift points...when push of the button is so easy.

Re: '7730 ecm with 4l80e

I've read on other boards that some folks are hacking the diesel controller, and others are hacking the TBI ECM to control only the transmission. Google is your friend...
