CC-Carb & ECM need help

I can't seem to get my motor to idle right and run correctly.. It'll drive just but seems to idle high and use more gas than it should. I was wanting to try and tune it and see what happens.

My question is.. its a 2.8L motor with a CC rochester Varajet E2SE. Not sure what the ecm is.. the car is an '83 SC with a 5spd

Will WinALDL work to do this.. I know i'll need the USB aldl cable.. is this all i need or what else?

Again im new to this so alot of help would be greatly appreciated. I tried searching but couldnt find anything for my setup..

Thanks again,

Mike

Re: CC-Carb & ECM need help

Us CC-guys seems to be a minority here, presumably regarded as freaks or retards..
Please excuse my rants, I'm just trying to make a joke - on my own expense..
But the fact is that info on CC systems is much harder to get hold of than on FI.
Now, I don't have any info at hand on this but I can try to help you out. If you can try to locate the ECM and read the 122- or 165- number on it, and perhaps also the BCC-code on the PROM beneath the small lid on the ECM, then we can try to go from there and see if there's anything to be found about it.
WinALDL can always datalog anything OBD1. It can also show sensor values and error codes - if that engine is included in its programming.
