need advice on troubleshooting trouble codes.

Hey guys. I was tinkering around with the bird today,(305 tbi) and I took the Air cleaner off while it was running to see how the tbi was doing. I noticed the fuel was spraying kinda funny. It would spray strong and then kinda sputter, both sides at the same time. The idle was also fluctuating some. Well I got a ses light the other day and decided to pull the codes, what I got was a 15, and a 23. 15;Low temp indicated at coolant sensor, 23. Low temp at at manifold air temp sensor or tps error. Here is the question. Would either of these cause the way the tbi was acting? And how do I test to determine what needs replaced or worked on? Thanks alot guys, you have already saved my butt once with this car!

Re: need advice on troubleshooting trouble codes.

If you disconnected the IAT to remove the air cleaner that is why code 23 was set.

As for code 15 and the CTS, that will cause all kinds of running problems. The CTS is one of the most important sensors. It has a lot of affect on the fueling.

It may be that the connector is intermittent or that the sensor is failing.
