Car: 1986 Trans am Engine: 5.3 LM7 Transmission: T56 6 speed Axle/Gears: Dana 44 w/ 3.55's | MAF to speed density swap?? Hi all. Figured you guys in here would be able to better help me than in the FI section. I have an 86 TA that had a fuel injection set up off of an 88. I swapped to carb, and hate it so I am going back to TPI. Now my question is, I'd like to go speed density with the MAP sensor because I am told it's easier to tune. I found a complete 1990 TPI set up with harness, computer, dist manifold, injectors....everything. Should this be just a bolt on thing, or are there going to be some parts of my chassis wiring that aren't going to like the speed density set up? I know they changed a bunch of things like relays in 90 and up, but I don't see it bothering anything.
Also, anyone have any input on whether you prefer MAF or MAP? Read my sig for my current engine combo. I just want the better way in terms of ease of tuning, driveability, etc. I was told that a mild set up prefers MAF because it allows for some adjustment, but a wild set up likes MAP better, and I plan on going boosted later on.
As always, thanks all in advance! | | |
