HELP ME PLEASE>>> ECM

OK
I have an 84 Crossfire Berlinetta and i had to swap the ECU over to a 90 TBI ECM. The wiring was no problem and i got all my scamatics from autozone.com. But i am having an issue with:
Dash Lights (digital)
Head Lights
And the big one. The security key in the 90 camaro...See below.

Ohh and right now i have a 6-cylinder s-10 blazer ECM in the car to move it around the yard. The replacement ECM is 350 bucks and uhhh... i don't think so. I AM NOT GOING WITH A CARB. I HATE THEM COLD NATURED BA$TARD$. and i wanna kep my crossfire. But the biggest problem is that The car doesn't run... I am having a problem with security key feature in the 90 TBI and i have tried to ground the pin, after testing for voltage of course. And nothing. So i tried to power the pin and nuthing. I have looked and looked online but nobody has done this and published the journey. If i can figure this out, i will gladly share the how to. If you could advise me please i will be VERY grateful. anything will help. Thanks and god bless.

Re: HELP ME PLEASE>>> ECM

Which ECM do you use out 90 camaro 1228746???

Do you know that in a pinch you can use a commonly available 1227747 truck ECM which is around $30 used from most JY's. There are minor differences 7747 vs 8746, but as long as 7747 is out of the 350 powered truck auto (you may need to play with TCC wiring) it should be enough to get that CFI going.

Re: HELP ME PLEASE>>> ECM

The best way to bypass the security is to burn a chip with the VATS disabled. Many members here have the equipment to do so.

YOu might want to look at it for yourself, as i'm willing to bet that the tune can be optimized for crossfire.

So how did you get the crossfire in a berlinetta? It wasn't a option, did you swap?

Edit-

For the lights, the light controls are accomplished by a "lighting center" that is attached to the ECM in a black case. How do your interior lights work? They are controlled by the same box. If yours is toast, contact John in RI. He also has wiring diagrams specific to the berlinetta on a cd that will be a great help for troubleshooting the complex digital dash/ lighting system.

Re: HELP ME PLEASE>>> ECM

My crossffire digital dash worked just fine with a 7747 ECU. But not the gas mileage indicators. FYI.

I would think a 8746(first choice) from a 305 donor will work OK for your 305 Berlinetta. Issue might be the wire harness. My 84 Vette has the ECU modified (hamboard) so it would plug right in to stock harness. 8746 will add IAT sensor if you wish.

Crossfire Berlinetta?
