need car dyno tuned in new york city area

i installed a 383 crate engine recently that came with a custom chip for my 91 z28. The intake is a first fuel setup with 24# injectors, 10.5 to 1 compression and profiler aluminum heads. The cam is a comp cams 268 degree high energy flat tappet cam. The duration is 218 and the lift with my 1.6 rockers is 484 with a 110 centerline. The car still feels like it needs a tune. It runs a little rough off idle and surges periodically between idle and 2500 rpm. It does'nt run terrible, but the cam is pretty mild i think. It should run better than it does, i think they concentrated more on wide open throttle when the chip was burned. I need to get the car dyno tuned at a good shop. Does anyone know of a good shop in the nyc area? Any thoughts? I've been driving the car for a while and i don't think it's going to run any better without a tune. I tried calling vette doctors but they said they only work on late model cars?

Carmen told you that he only works on the newer models? Wow, I'm surprised....

I don't know too many shops over in New York other than the vette doctors, but if you consider coming out to New Jersey, I would recommend Ida's shop, as they literally wrote the book on tuned port injection. Either them, or Cartek will get the engine running to its fullest potential. Either one is worth the ride....

cartek also said they don't tune my setup. There must be someone who tunes these cars. I'm really not thrilled with this, if i would have known i could'nt get the car tuned with the gm ecm i would have gone carburated.

The same holds true in upstate NY. You've got a couple of people that tune but are very hesitant on using the tunerpro, tunercat software. You literally have to explain it to them and twist there arm to get them to even look at it. You would think that there's enough cars out there now like ours that can be tuned, that someone would say hey theres a lot of tuning work out there. Not just the new stuff!
Vette doctors told me that they would look at it before they did anything. But then I'd have to take it from Albany to Long Island.

i just got my car tuned today at ida automotive. he installed a perfect power piggyback module and tuned it easily. the car runs great now. It ran me a 1000 bucks but it was worth it. He's really good just call him up and make an appointment. check their website idaautomotive.
