ECM relearning need help badly

Hey ppl is there anyway that i can make my ecm relearn the shift points . I just recently replaced my ecm from another car same as mine in everything. I have a 1989 2.8 automatic. Is there anyone out there that can help me out pls im desperate and i want to drive my car cuz right now the shifting is very lousy rpm goes high. It shifted great before the change. PPL thanks for any answers.

Is your tranny electric? If not I dont believe the ECU has any control. I recall valves internal to trans control it? I would post this in trans area or search "shift points" or "shift rpm".

sounds like your tv cable it messed up, or "kicked down" is not adjusted correctly

Here's the tech article on adjusting the TV cable. Here's another one, little bit better explanation.

Here's a picture... I added my own take on the directions as well. Hope it helps. (<-- That pic is from my 305 TPI, but the cable adjuster assembly should be the same on your car.)

Each of those three sets of instructions will get you to the same point, I just like to give multiple choices in case you might find one is easier to understand than the others.
