Anyone know the ECM board layout

Anyone know the ECM board layout that could tell me what is controled in what area.

Like take one look at my burned ECM and say oh yea your bla bla bla circut burned out. [ ECM board is burnt in one spot. ] Insted of testing 999999 things to see what bad in the system, one look at what burnt out should give a big lead at what it is right???

Re: Anyone know the ECM board layout

A strobing SES indicates that the ECM is restarting due to a fault (faulty ROM or issue reading the ROM). If its strobing, than thats a good indicator that the ECM is at least partially functional as the watchdog/COP is init. and ROM checksum is being performed. But, either the ECM halts due to a fault or the checksum fails, causing a restart.

You get the same thing with the later OBD-II computers as well, except that it will be the fuel pump relay that cycles.

background, car had a code for a bad ECM for 7-9 years, ran like a top even though a small area was burnted out that whole time and maybe well before I got it. Then finally went bunk on me and would not give any codes even by ALDL.

Replaced ECM with a new unit [not a junkyard one] and it ran great again for two weeks. Start the car up and let it ilde for a min, come back out and it bucking and fighting to stay running with the strobe flashing SES light.

Does run but spits n pops, play with the pedal and it will start to run good, till ya try to move, whole time strobe flashing SES light.

So your saying my chips are bad, both of them [ there is two a big one and a small one] or just one and which plz as ill be abel to put a hault on slapping a 2SE carb on it to have a running car again.
