wrong ecm?

been fighting with my car for a while now it used to start a few months ago now it does not. I decided to go pick up a new old ecm (870) from the local junk yard got it out of an 85 iroc(same equip as my T/a) . is it possible i got the wrong ecm the old one used to prime the fuel pump before starting the car the current one does not(still will not start). i tryed switching the prom and cal pack from old to new box but no change. also the ecm i picked up had no ID stickers on it saying what it was for sure. the visible circuitry was all the same. any ideas?
