please help

I've read and reread all the info on this site and fsc and i'm still confused. Do I need something else to tune my truck? I kinda understand how it works in theroy, but when I try to apply stuff it dosent seem to work. I think what confuses me the most is the bin files. Someone please try and work with me just so I can kinda get the hang of this. Thanks guys

Re: please help

years back an emulator(romulator one of first) was considered a temporary tuning tool in that you get the tune better with it and then eventually burn the chip and you are running on chip. that emulator had memory held on a 9 V battery. all sorts of issues and you better have the stock chip on board if the thing goes haywire you are stranded. now i suspect the emulatoors can be on board for a long lenght of time and are portable car-to car if you sell or tune another. I have since gone to my second flash based ECU. flash prominator to flash EBL. that is as good as it gets currently for tuning. check Moates and dynamicefi.com or others(megasquirt). I am sure others still burn chips on kitchen table and that is OK as well just takes more time but tune is same.
