Code 43 all of a sudden

Well my 86 Camaro 305 TPI has started acting up recently. I noticed the exhaust started sounding weird and the car has been very sluggish. It sounds like its misfiring or something. No check engine light on, but I can bring code 43 up when I check it. How can I test the ESC module? Can it possible be the knock sensor?

Re: Code 43 all of a sudden

code 43 is for the ECM / ESC or possibly the Knock sensor could be the wire to the knock sensor and you can get a replacement pigtail from NAPA for around 12 dollars but yours sounds like the ECM the misfire thing and you can take the module out and take it to advance auto and they have a test rig that test modules. I just had a check engine light that would not go out and a constant code 43 and changed all the ignition parts and computer and finally found the knock sensor plug to be bad so check that plug first Chuck
