Is my Gen 6 Accel DFI outdated?

I have an old project car that I'm just starting to work on. 383 SuperRam DFI 6 system. Not blown now but I built the motor to be supercharged.

My question is, does it make sense to put this system back into the new car? Or would I be better off upgrading to a newer DFI system? Suggestions welcome. The car will be street driven with the occasional trip to the dragstrip. I'm interested in ease of tunability.

Well if you are going to put a blower on it I would recommend upgrading to a newer system. The Gen 7 and Thruster series DFI units are a lot easier to tune as well. If you decide to move up send me a PM I might be able to help you out on a Thruster system.

Re: Is my Gen 6 Accel DFI outdated?

run the 6 for a while. i am assuming the gen 6 has the control parameters that your project car needs. need some more details about the car. what are you expecting the gen 6 to control? get used to tuning with it. gen 6 has input for a 2bar map. you ask about ease of tuning. gen6 is pretty easy. im assuming you have the calmap cable and oldslow laptop. it works great for me. unless you have the 2k or whatever for a gen 7. gen 6 will work fine.
