I have a 1992 Camaro L03 305 Automatic. I purchased a EPROM from E-bay...a Jet Stage 2 (has 1993) stamped on it. Anyway, I installed it this evening and all the car does is crank; will not start, and the fan comes on. If I install the original chip back in the car starts. Should I have dropped the negative cable; installed the chip, and then attempted to restart? I didn't get any installation instructions so I just thought it would be plug and play. Any assistance anyone can provide is appreciated.

I believe so; I unplugged it and turned in around just in case then plugged it in. No matter how it was installed; all the engine did was crank. I could unplug it and put the stock one in and it would start immediately. Puzzled the crap out of me. My stock chip is an MEMCAL with the blue cover; the Jet chip is a PC board with Chips on it so perhaps I bought the wrong one?
I piggy backed the MEMCAL to the stage 2 and it started. But it ran like crap and had alot of hesitation/backfire through the TBI. Dropped the positive and negative cable independently and had the same result. Also had a high idle along with it. Needless to say, I took the stage 2 out and put the stock one back in. It runs fine now. That said, for anyone considering buying an aftermarket PROM don't waste your money. This was $50.00 on e-bay; I could have spent that on another tank of gas...lesson learned.
