ecm noob question?! i need help asap

hi,
i had a custom chip for bigger injectors(i don't remember if i pulled a stock one out or not), now i have stock injectors, so i pulled out the custom moates chip.

question, do i need a stock memcal/(or prom?) and does it go where the custom one was? or is it built in somewhere and nothing goes in this spot?

You need to replace the PROM with a stocker or a correctly tuned chip.

Re: ecm noob question?! i need help asap

if you are using the ecm in the picture a 1227165 maf you can use any 86-89 v8 350 memcals, the 89 is the best no cold start programing.

Re: ecm noob question?! i need help asap

He needs a MAF PROM not MAP.

Also he's an '89 so he needs that specific year because it is the only one GM made with the MAF and without 9 injectors.

ARAP should be the right BIN iirc.

Can't edit posts, ARAP is the Vette BIN. Would run but have too hot of a timing table. Try looking for AUJL.

Re: ecm noob question?! i need help asap

yes arap might cause a iron head to ping,
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...80-memcal.html

or if you find a 305 one 86-89 I will reprogram for fairly cheap $6e mask
if you have a v8 memcal all you would need is a chip burned togo into your moates g1, let me know if I can help !!

Okay, I'm an idiot, the old chip as attached to the Moates! lol
So here is my next question, it has markings on it but this is a replacement ecu, can you verify if its the right chip? i looked up 2 codes one said 5.7 and the other said 5.0

silver tab; 4218 AUJL 0577
under that 014 69300 b9416AD
next chip;16072665 91 07
last chip; 16133420 91 30 printed twice
