How to remove chip?

I just got a new aftermarket chip to bypass VATS and went to go take out the stock one but it doesn't come out! I've tried prying underneath the chip but it's pulling out the terminals so I don't want to damage anything. Is there a proper way to remove this? thanks

The stop EPROM is soldered in.

The best way is to get an adapter that will allow the LHM and Knock filter of the original MEMCAL to be retained and allow the new E/EPROM to be placed in such a way that the ECM reads it.

Moates.net is one such place that sells the adapter. Look at the G1.

Its easy to unsolder the stock eprom nd solder in a d2 dip. You just about destroyed that memcal.

Re: How to remove chip?

I know, I realized too late that it can be easily unsoldered. Does it look too damaged to function from the pic? I'm not sure how sensitive these things are and the bypass chip doesn't seem to be doing a whole lot. This is the issue I'm stuck with and I'm trying to determine if it's VATS related
