Can my ECM be monitored in "open" mode?

From what I understand, there are three different modes for monitoring engine data with a scanning device; open, aldl, and factory test. I know my 'roc supports the aldl mode monitoring but I don't like this mode because of the fact it changes some operating characteristics; full advance, 1000 rpm idle, ect... I want to try and build a cable to use winaldl or gmecm to monitor my car in open mode, but I don't feel like wasteing the time and money to build a cable just to find out my ECM doesnt support it.

Does anyone know for sure if my ecm (see sig.) can work in "open" mode, I've heard some ECM families can't?

Thanks

ps - this probobly should be a DFI/ECM post but I haven't found too much help over there on this topic.
