Hope you guys aren't tiring of all the GMECM Edit posts. =) http://gmecmedit.markmansur.com/ Whats New in this version? - Added inc/dec functionality within summary view ( using numpad +/- or ctrl -/ctrl = which is the same for the editor windows) - fixed title bar issue when "new ecu" is selected. - you can now *actually* disable default ecu opening at bin load - default ecu loads when dragging/dropping a bin into the editor - "prompt when mask not recognized" works now. - fixed a number of crashes I'm going to be digging in deep for some new major functionality in upcoming versions, so stay tuned ... PS - you may want to delete your old GMECMEditSettings.dat file before running the app. This will clear all saved settings. Have fun! M

Just a question - Have you had any reports of GMECM Edit having compatibility issues with AutoCAD 2000i ?

Nope. I have AutoCAD 2000 installed myself. No issues.

Not to mention that GMECM Edit uses no resources outside of its own exe. It does not use shared DLL's, libraries, etc. Everything is self-contained. Hence the lack (so far) of an installation routine.

I am curious about this, though. What leads you to believe GMECM Edit (or AutoCAD) would be the culprit?

Your .BIN editor is just fine. I had a rather coincidental situation. I had downloaded and installed your editor. I used it a couple of times with no problem. I had also installed a new version of Norton AV 9the whole package. It seems that good old Peter wrote a .dll for NAV 2003 that was incompatible with ACad2000, 2000i, MDT, and a few other iterations of AutoDesk software. Norton didn't do anything to rectify the problem, but there is a "repaired" .dll available at the AutoCad site that fixes the problem. In case you encounter a similar problem, there is good technical support for AutoDesk applications at http://www.cad-1.com/tech_support1.htm

So far, your software seems to be well-engineered. I'm especially impressed with the ability to customize the .ecu files. I think this will be a very powerful tool in helping me crack the old CCC PROMs.

I'm still trying to simulate those occasional shutdowns of the program and capture the exact causes. I haven't been doing a lot of .bin editing lately, but with autumn upon us, it probably won't be too long before I head back to the "cave" and get at it.

Wow! Thanks for the tip Vader! I'm having an issue with MDT drawings becoming unusable, I wonder if this may be it? It did get my butt in gear to work with Inventor, finally, thoung, and I have to say I like it better than MDT.

So, are the newer version of the software (that will work with specific devices!) still gonna be self contained and as simple? That is one thing I like about your stuff!

No, I'm glad you brought it up. Things like this are the kick-in-the-pants I need to question my own code, which often leads me to fix other bugs!

In a very short time I will be releasing the next incarnation, with Romulator, AutoProm, and ALDL data monitoring. Oh, and nifty 3D graphs.

GMECM Edit is now called TunerPro.
