PE mode,,, Why?

Why does you even have things like PE chagnes in fuel and timing? Why just not tune the upper ve tabels and timing tabel for optimal preformance all the time? When are you abow 4800rpm and NOT doing WOT? I cant reacall se PE mode in other aftermarket EFI systems like FAST, autronic etc etc. Of course there is a open vs closed loop system but PE? No..

And why do you have a closed TPS spark advance tabel. Why not just go on the main spark advance and tune the 600 - 900rpm for idle?

And why do you have 13 KPA cells and 100rpm intervalls in the VE tabels and timing tabels, isent that a bit overkill for a none N/A engine?

Same goes for the PE vs fuel vs water/air temp tabel. Why just not use a ordinare "ve and timing chagnes vs coolant and air temp"?

Did GM put all this features to make the car work for a bigger audience ? ANd keep the MPG down. Thats the only reason I can think off?

I did just came from a dyno where they hade a vette with a autronic system. It runned like hell without all this stuff, but ofcourse MPG whasent even remotly importend with this car

Just some thougts...

Dont get me wrong I like to work with the 730. But I think you can go blind with all the stuff you can alter with this system.
I have just zero out all my PE adders. And just concentrate on the importend stuff like fuel and spark for now. And dont go crazy with tiny chagnes in every ve cells and pe tabels.

thanks

making a car have good manners can be quiet tuff. thats what all that stuff is for. Also pe mode is there becuase the engieers are trying to tune for Stioc A/F and the ve and spark tables for emmisions reasons have to be trunned this way. the PE mode allows for the richer A/F and the more aggresive spark curve.

then there is emissions and C.A.F.E. complaince which can be a bit of a bear to accomplish without the right tools and code.
