I'm doing some thinking ahead to how best to set up an Eaton M112 on my 5L Holden engine.
I think I'm going to use either a 16183082 (like a '165) or a '730 with $58 code. The '082 will need the tables stretched, as some have done for the '808 code (but there's 2 VE tables in an '082, so more resolution) and the car could use an extra couple of injectors to get the fuel I need without upsizing the 8 injectors I have.
I've seen that Grumpy is using 7 or 8 injectors, and wonder how the extra injectors are switched in (is it all the time, or just under boost?).
I think it's going to be beyond my present skills to patch the code to switch in the extra injectors. Could I do something like use a pressure switch to cut them in when I have over say 100 kPa MAP, and put up with it running a bit rich when on boost as a result? Would this be better than an FMU?
If you're gonna swap ecm's anyway, go with a 749 and have boost enrichment in the prom.
If you don't wanna go that route for fuel enrichment under boost use alky or propane injection. These setup's cool the intake charge, provide increased octane, and have been pretty well documented on the net. My favorite one was a propane injection setup using a nitrous solenoid, pressure switch, and progessive nitrous controller. It only came on under boost and was pretty tuneable to only provide the amount of enrichment needed.
You could setup an extra injector on a hobbs switch, i've seen mustang guys do it, It's just not my favorite.

7 so far, the first 8th I didn't care for. But, now I think I know what will work for the 8th..
Seems to me, in stagering sizes, you can use the fuel to it's best advantage that way. ie you want to cool the plenum, use an injector do that.
You can redo say the EGR to enable an extra injector driver.
Bruce, can you suggest which EGR approach to take? In the $58 ECU I have, there is:-
EGR flow pressure compensation vs pressure,
EGR desired % vs VAC and RPM, and
EGR Duyy Cycle s EGR valve flow (normalized) G/S/F75 (KPA).
Any of these look feasible as an injector controller?
