Since I stumbled upon this how exactly is the pcm setup to handle 8 saturated injectors instead of 2 peak-and-hold injectors. Also does this conversion apply to the 4L80E trans as well.
I run a 1995 2.2.l LN2 Chevrolet S10 Pickup, 5-Speed man,
(ECM 16199982, BMLB 16pin OBDII-style connector)
in Germany.
Do someone have four-banger experiances ????
I've got the TunerPro and the $0D.ecu from the file-section at moates.net
Can I also have further $0D.ecu by mail?
Where can I get further $0D.ecu files? I've downloaded a huge hack from http://members.fortunecity.com/tunemaster this link was mentioned here.
Is it trustworthy ???
I've read somewhere, that the ecu-files couldn't support more than 1MB
filesize...it that true? Could that be a problem????...I don't think so,
the file I got have only 112k....
I would be glad about every kind of help, tips or informations....

Where did you read this? This isn't true, at least not with TunerPro.
Since the ECU you're using is 112k, looks like you have quite a ways to go even if this was an issue.
You can guess where he read it, right? Probably more lies propagated by a self-serving low-life who should, in my humble opinion, be wiped from the face of this good earth.
Bringing this back up. Since I stumbled upon this how exactly is the pcm setup to handle 8 saturated injectors instead of 2 peak-and-hold injectors. Also does this conversion apply to the 4L80E trans as well.
The PCM is not exactly set up to run 8 saturated injectors, but it will work. There are 2 peak-n-hold drivers of the LM1949 variety. With 4 saturated injectors per driver, they don't draw enough current to cause the driver to go into "Hold" mode which would drop current through the injectors. This is how Edelbrock is able to offer a TBI to MPFI conversion that does not require any driver mods.

C'mon Craig, don't sugar coat it. Tell us how you really feel. LOL

I've got the $0D_v01.ecu file dated 04/21/04,
I havent found any aldl definitions in the file as in the hack....
Will this file allow me to do Realtime programing via the aldl port?
What about the error codes????
There is also no shift-light item....
If there is no newer release I'll do some work on the file....referanced to the hack....
is the hack trustworthy???
If I have done some work, could somebody check it!?!?!?
I'll start with the shift-light....
...I have take alook where I've read the opinion of the .ecu
...it was at the pcm site...

Why doesn't allow my ECM that?
Does it depend only on the Eprom?
What will be if I change the Eprom to an EEprom?
The stockchip is a 27C512, and I would swap to a 27SF512.
Would that run?

You need a separate file for logging the ALDL datastream using TunerPro (an ADS file). For your application, you'll need to create the ADS file.
How could I create such a ADS file?
What about the .DS files from moates.net/files/ ?
could I use one of them comleat or as reference?
I have created a 0D ads file for the 94/95 4.3/5.0/5.7 TBI w/4L60E tranny using the 16156930, 16196395, 16197427 PCM's. The ads file was created using the A217 data stream. This is the $F4 message ID for the engine data stream. This file is all inclusive. I have not tested it, so feel free to check it out and let me know how it goes.
I have also updated the $0D ecu file.
Both zip files will be available at moates.net/fileman under the appropriate locations. There is currently a problem uploading files at Craigs site but he is correcting the problem. In the meantime you can PM me and I will email the files to you.
The ads zip file is 0D A217 Engine v1_0.zip
The updated ecu zip file is 0D v1_02.zip
Both zip files contain a text file with details and changes.
A $F5 message ID for the Transmission Data Stream is on the way.
I am also working on an engine and tranny ads file for the 93 model year A201/A204 Data Stream.
Anyone know where to find board level/component schematics such as the ones on Ludis' site. I am looking for the schemos for a 16197427. How about a component/parts list?
I have contacted several ecm/pcm repair houses and they all tell me the same thing, they don't have them. I then ask how is it possible to repair the units without schemos?? Their answer: they just know!! Now that's scary?!
I have also contacted delphi, their answer: Proprietary can't have!!
How did Ludis get them, did he create them by board/component reverse engineering?? Or has he got contacts?
I attempted to trace board runs, but the 7427 is a multilevel board which makes it nearly impossible.
Anyone got any contacts at GM/delphi that can pull a few strings?
89350- I have your ads file and I have a couple of comments/questions.
I was trying to change a few of the parameters based on the $0D hack. First I changed the dump parameter to be F4 56 rather than F4 57 to match mark's file and get it to dump aldl stuff.
However, I'm not quite sure what the 56 word means. I see the device ID is F4, but what is that second word? I can't find it in the hack.
Also,
I'm wondering where you (and mark) found the RPM byte. I check the hack and it shows fuel pump at that byte. Clearly it's the RPM byte. Also, I recalibrated the Engine MAP to be in Kpa and changed the transmission map to BARO as listed in the hack (although I don't know if it's correct).
Also I noticed that the BLM cell numbers jump around to values above 15 (i.e., I get 16 17 and 18). I was under the impression that the BLM cells went from 0:1:15?
Thanks for all your work and let me know if I can help out at all. I don't really have the time to hack asm code but I can read hacks and make ecu/xdf files and datastream ids for mark's software.
Thanks,
Sean

Many Thanks

Ludis actually reverse engineered them. He did post (elsewhere) how he went about doing it. In short, he first used a solvent to remove the conformal coating. Then traced the routing out. One trick he used was a brass brush hooked to the 0-ohms beeper on the DVM. This allowed for sweeping the board to quickly find connections.

Haulinass just pointed out that our ecus have 20 blm cells. I'm wondering if there is another rpm or map division or if something else is going on.
OK cell 18 is in park/neutral
Cell 16 is in drive at 0 mph
I think cells 17/19 may be the same as above but with a/c on
