Building an ECU file for TunerPro?

How would one go about it? I'm interested in building an ECU file for the V6s.... one for hte $3A in the 302 ('85-'89 2.8 MAF) as well as the $88 in the '730 for the 3.1 (90-92 SD setup).

Is there a readme or something somewhere I'm not finding?

Don't exist, as far as I've seen. You're pioneering (again). I'll help a bit.. I'd like to disassemble the HNJ.. but I think a 90-92 SD would help me more since I'd like some VE data to start my $58 with.

There is an $88 hac over on the diy-efi/gmecm site. For a ECU file I believe there is a tutorial on Mark's site: http://tunerpro.markmansur.com

Else look at a current ECU file for any mask. It's easy to figure out.

You think you're gonna have it interesting, Doward, just wait until I publish one of my little projects. Writing up a .ecu file for a DIY honda obd-0 bin. Speaking of which I need to PM Magnus with a request for a tidbit of support that goes a little outside GM spec. Bleh.

I've got an ecu for the Ford SHO's, it isn't very complete but it has most of the tables, just not many constants (harder to find).

TunerPro 4.0 will use a new definition file format to replace the ECU. This new format will support the methods ford and honda use for such things as embedded table axes, more complex math, object linking, etc.

In the meantime, I'd love to get both of your ECUs. =)

Would it be possible to use TunerPro to create a definition file for a LS1 pcm, provided onr has the bin?

No. LS1's are OBDII. Completely different protocol, completely different interface.

If this helps:

For the $88 I use the 730atta.ecu with the Atta6656 bin.

The ecu has an "ecu file error" in the format, but you can cut some ecu portions and it works.

The bin is for a DIS $88 mask.

Hey Mark,
v4.0 will still recognise the current format .ecu won't it??
I just completed creating a .ecu for the 16168625 ($E6) and i'd hate to have to do it all over ;-)

No way man.

Just kidding. Yes, you can still import ECU files, but I don't plan on supporting the ability to export to ECU.
