A few chip ??'s

I am looking into ordering some stuff from www.moates.net to burn chips for a 16196344 and a 16159278( 93 z28). I am just wanting to clear some stuff up before I order.

Am I going to need a "G1(Memory Adapter)" with eather one of these ECM's?

Will a "G3 ( Bank Switching Adapter)" work with a 93 f-body 16159278 ECM?

will "C1 (Atmel 29C256 )" chips work for these ECM's? And it will work with the "G3" correct.

Do I need a ZIF for these?

And a Burn-1 will work with this correct. along with TunerCat and TunerPro

Oh and will a ob1 stile ALDL cable work with both of these ECM's ?

Thanks for all the help... I'm still trying to understand all this stuff.

Good site . BTW, www.thirdgen.org , thirdgen being short for third generation f-body . It's okay to lie a little but I'm going to assume this Lt1 ecm is going into a thirdgen f-body.

Yes, for both, so long as they're 93 and older. The 94 and 95 ecms are flash so you'll need an akm style cable that is like $35 on ebay, that doesn't include the software required.

I think it might but there are some buts... like is this ecm going to be in the underhood like it's original location or will it be in cabin. I also don't know if the switcher adaptor will fit under the stock cover. I don't think it will with the zif socket but it might without it (pulls right out).

Yes, those are the chips for the 93's. If you need the bin for the manual cars let me know through e-mail. If it's auto, I've got that too. Either way you could just read the stock calibration off the memcal with one of Craig's header adaptors and the Burn1.

No, and I don't think they'll fit.

Yes, the Burn-1 will work for burning and reading the chips. TunerCat is currently the only one that has the ability to edit the 93 (and 94/95 for that matter) bin files.

Yes, all of GM 95 and older were obd1 so any obd1 software that supports your ecm will work. I don't think TunerPro has a definition file for that ecm but I could be wrong. The cables are "mostly" all the same, different software for different ecms. I think Freescan is an option that will work with any of the akm style (max232 chip inside) obd1 cables.

Your welcome and yeah, there's a lot to understand but once you read enough of it and dable with the code yourself (taking notes) you'll get the feel for things. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to modify a calibration. Even the greatest tuners in the world take their time because no matter how good you think you are, you can always learn something new.

There are indeed ECU definitions for EE and EEB (94/95). You would have to use other freeware to update the flash, however (I do plan on putting in the flash routines someday soon). I don't remember what mask '93 uses, but I'd be willing to bet the definition exists for TunerPro.
