Truck LB4-L03 Swap (288, 299 ECM)

Hello all,

I have a question and actually this is for my fathers truck. I'm pulling my 1992 L03 in place of a L98 and TPI.

Anyhow he has a 1992 C1500 5 Speed with the LB4 (4.3L) engine. He's got 330,000 on the original longblock and its starting to have a hard time pulling the boat (Down on power). So, he wants to put my L03 out of the Camaro into his Truck thinking it would make a decent pulling/gas mileage motor.

I haven't looked to see what CPU he has. It is either 16146299 ($99) or the 16144288 ($A0).

I believe the L03 was an option if he has the 16146299 ($99) and might just facilitate a Prom or ECM change.

If it is the 16144288 what can I do??? He doesn't want to get into what I'm doing with repinning etc... Just wants to keep it simple, if not he's just gonna overhaul the 4.3L.

Will the 747' ECM fall into place of the 16144288 without changing pins??? Or if your really good will the 16146299 fall in place of the 1614288? Trying to go the simplest route here.

(Maybe the wrong place - Truck Boards, but hoping maybe somebody knows off the top of their head). Thanks guys!
