S_AUJP Version 3

Guys,

There have been enough requests that I am going to update the S_AUJP files with the following modifications ....

1) RBob's extended VE table that provides for fueling data out to 6400rpms.
2) Z69's hardcode changes to allow for proper fueling on bigger cube motors.

If anyone has any other modifications then let me know. I intend to have version 3 posted by end of day Tuesday.

Tim

I think you should pull some timing out, I have a lot of knock even on a aluminum head motor with the timing table in SUJP v1 and v2. I also think you should disable TCC unlock on Deceleration and DFCO.

Keep up the good work

I personally tried the 'disable TCC on decel'. It sucked for me. Hated it on a big cam'd car. Might work fine on a stock car but would suck later. As far as the timing, it is setup to run 93 octane ... nothing less. The timing is fairly mild.

I haven't touched the bench yet. Been working on the Scooby ... and been working on the new little addition to our family (another baby boy born on 2/16).

I have the S_AUJP mods complete. I am just waiting on any other requests before I post the bins over on moates' filemanager later today.

Con grats Tim, I got another boy a month earlier than you....
I suspected some family stuff and the sale....

This is a really good code project so I was hesitant to post it. Might take away some incentive for people to learn code. ButI have a 3 VE table aujp patch if people are interested.
Haven't tested on the bench yet, been too busy. But it basically is the same as RBobs' but different map and rpm breaks. I was lazy and stuck all the tables out at $9000.
So the original ve1 and 2 are spare space now.

From the readme:
This zip file contains a patch for the AUJP BCC. If an attempt
is made to use this patch on another BCC is may or may not work.

The original tables cover the RPM range of 400 RPM through 5,600 RPM.
After this patch is applied the new VE tables cover the RPM range of
400 RPM through 6,400 RPM. With 5kpa divisions and 100,200 or 400 rpm
breaks depending on the table.

The patch will;
Add VE3 table for 3600 rpm to 6400 RPM with 400 rpm breaks.
Add Mid rpm table VE2 for 2000 rpm to 3600 rpm with 200 rpm breaks.
Extend VE1 table to 400 rpm to 2000 rpm with 100 rpm breaks.
Scale all VE tables to 5kpa break points for x by 17 table size.

Z69,

Wow, cool mod. Any reason you didn't take it out to 7000rpms? Just curious. I've uploaded the S_AUJP v3 stuff on moates' site. Maybe I'll work this into v4 Would definitely be cool to see 7000rpms though. I know of a few people taking her out to those RPMs. Heck, even with my stock shortblock I was taking it out to 6800rpms. Don't take that the wrong way though. Your hardcode mod kix butt. I really like the granularity of the mid table. Very very coolio. Congrats on the new addition too

Tim

The v3 S_AUJP stuff is now posted on Moates' site. Couple notes:

v3:
1) PROM ID changed to 3
2) Z69's hardcode mod for getting the BPW to work with bigger cube motors.
3) RBob's extended VE patch to get the VE table to go out to 6400rpms.

Very Important: The extended VE patch makes the standard upper VE table useless. Do no try to use the standard upper VE table!!! For those using TunerPro and the Super8D ECU file this is no big deal because that ECU file has the definition for RBob's extended VE table. For TunerCat users you are going to have to use TDFEditor in order to add (or modify) the location of the new upper VE table. Please see the text file in the downloadable zip file for more details and the location of the table, etc. Again, the stock AUJP upper VE table is now useless when using the version 3 binary.

Now you had to go and get me thinking about it again

None of my engines "need" to go higher. Doesn't mean I don't go there ocassionally.

3d l/u uses ACCA. 6375/25 = 255.

Rbob has left a hint on how to do >6375.
Being a code rookie...
I'll try and see how involved it is this weekend.
Only a few bytes left in the original code space.

edit: I'm going to post the code after I get it tested on the bench.

Great job guys

Z' you have been busy too, and I thought you were still playing with text
Congrats on the kids too!
I'm down to only a few more pages on the full AUJP hac then reformatting for prettiness! It's opened my eyes to mucho things going on in there and hopefully I'll be helping to contribute more "effectively" on these projects. Were going to need XDF 'n such too that I'll be involved in too.

I'll probably ask for some proff readers to get as much acurracy in terr as poosible. (see what I mean)

Thanks JP, I sent you an e-mail saying I had the 3 VE patch.
Almost a month ago........
Must have missed it....
Been working on text since I've been busy lately and it's a mostly brainless operation and I can quit at anytime.
I have a tendency to stay up till 2am if I start a code project.

Jeff, I can do a patch so that you can cut and paste your tables. Should just be a mostly <delete> operation from existing patch I have.

I looked at the >6375 thing. Doesn't look too involved.
Got a few blanks in my knowledge base to fill then I can do it.
Well, bench test how I think it will work....

Z69,

It should not be too bad to do, All I truly need to change is the VE stuff, even though what I have may be way off, I have not gotten to far with tuning yet.. it is tough with a 2 yr old and a second ont he way , as you may know.

Anyway I copied everything from my current Prom to the Super 8D v2 but if you have something to make it easier to copy that to V3 I am all ears..

Thanks

There is a very easy way to copy from one bin to another by using the TunerPro difference tool. Just take the V3 bin and your original bin then use the toolbox to copy the entire tables of the different settings. This is the quickest and best method out there in my opinion.
BTW the Super8dm does not translate directly. I did quite a bit of cleanup along with 2 of the original tables needed scaling which the old system could not do. The only problem with the new XDF format is that TP does not allow enough description length so it gets cut off. I used this area as a quick reference to the Super_AUJP settings along with some general comments for each item if I had something to put in including some temperature conversions for quick reference. Apparently this does not seem important enough to anybody but me but the intent was to quickly get an idea what has changed and what to do for each item. Also another note if you are using VEMaster to get your VE tables in line it only does the original extended table not the V3 table to 6400RPM. TP has a copy table to clipboard then paste but you cannot control where the table gets pasted but the bottom line is it is in the upper right hand corner. At this point you have to either fill in the extended table by hand or you have to use something else like copy to an excel spreadsheet then add the addtional rows then copy from the spreadsheet to the new table. The other alternative is to use Tunercat for this function as you can control the location of which cell the table gets pasted to. I am still using DM to do my datalogging because of VEMaster. TP and Moates were talking about similiar functionality in the TP logger but I have not seen it yet or gotten the datalogger to work on my machine yet for TP4.0.

The patch will;
Add VE3 table for 3600 rpm to 6400 RPM with 400 rpm breaks.
Add Mid rpm table VE2 for 2000 rpm to 3600 rpm with 200 rpm breaks.
Extend VE1 table to 400 rpm to 2000 rpm with 100 rpm breaks.
Scale all VE tables to 5kpa break points for x by 17 table size.

Trax Question. It appears that the info here states that there are now 3 VE tables and that each table has a 5kpa break. Can you please clarify so I can fix the tables for Super8dm.XDF format? VE1 should be to 2000rpm in 100rpm increments.
VE2 needs to be defined from 2000RPM to 3600RPM in 200 RPM increments but at what address?
All tables now have a 5kpa column.

To clarify, Trax and I were discussing my patch to AUJP that has 3 VE tables. It would be V4. Not V3, which has RBob's 6400 rpm extended VE2 only with the stock kpa splits.
Lots of people don't like all the cells in the stock tables. So they really wouldn't like my patch.....

What would it take to implement those tables to the V3 Super 8D??

That would be VERY cool to have that kind of adjustability?

Then I would not be switching again. I would need the Tunercat TDF editor to make the BIN read correctly which is no big deal.

Let me know how much work is involved or if there is a way for you to add them tot eh Super 8D V3.. ( I use the one with CCP)

69Ghost, I'd like to see your XDF file if I could.
I am finding some small differences from the ANHT and AUJP that I want to confirm. I don't know which $8D you are using to get all of the items. I also did alot of cleanup from the flag word conversions but still am editing the my hac file. I like the new XDF way mucho better for the bits. (Thanks to Magnus's efforts)

Jeff, I would think that V3 as it sits would apply to more people.
My patch can be applied to any (S)_AUJP bin. Just add your tables to the patch and apply it.

Once you stick the altered VE scale in the S_AUJP line, it would split the useage into a Scaled group and an extended group.
While it hasn't been discussed for very long, I've only had 3 reguests. Seems a patch might be more applicable.
RBobs' was out going on a year prior to incorporation into a posted bin.
I plan on testing the bin on my bench this weekend provided the boss doesn't find something else for me to do.
And I'd prefer Trax continues at the Helm of the S_Aujp.
And the lack of publically availabe stuff like this has me wondering... This stuff really isn't that hard once you figure it out.
Just time consuming. Really time consuming for me since I'm new to asm. The patch to me about 30hrs. to figure out and write.
I have to fill in all the holes in my knowledge base as I go. So an 8hr project takes me a week.
Plenty of people on here with lots more ability than me and less than RBob. I'd hope that by my doing this kind of stuff would free things up so to speak. Plenty of history on here to already point to this being a naive hope......
I just do this for fun. But I'd prefer if 4 - 6 people were in on this.
Currently there are only two of us that I know of going in the same direction.
Dejavu......

I'm glad to see encouragment to proceed with the project. I'd also like to say thanks to all those involved with s_aujp as i'm sure they don't hear it enough. Now if only i could find more time to get further along with asm. I guess the best progress is slow progress.

This is a little off topic but I will state it once again. The Super8dm was created by comparing all the ECU hacs I could find for the 8d chip. I compared and consolidated the ECU hacs that I could find then they were checked for accuracy. This included about 3-4 ECU definitions that were out there. When there was any question/problem I referred to the ANHT hac which is a vette. The idea was to put everything in and to make it right along with some kind of orderly naming convention. I also checked all the error codes from a Corvette shop manual. Along came the extended VE table patch and the throttle follower stuff that got added. I built it to mimic the S_AUJP which is what I use anyway. When I patch the 3 new VE tables I will include those also along with leaving in the original tables for others to use accordingly. The new XDF also has some scaled tables that couldn't be done in the past. Yes Mangus has done a great job on TP I just always want a little more.....

I have sent out some private replies to the extended VE tables discussion and have extensively looked at the newer bins (LT1 in particular) and here is my take. I have found that in tuning experiences that I have modified the VE tables more than any single area of the bin. It would stand to reason that a well defined extended VE table would be the direction to go. I am already using the original extended patch and have included it in the Super8dm. The original patch also does not change or modify the lower table. This has some added benefits like being able to use VEMaster on the lower table for the datarun and freeing up space in the extended range for other code. I believe that the best benefit from a set of extended tables would be in the portion of the RPM range where most users would be able to take advantage of it. This is what I would do with a set of extended VE tables:

1. Leave the lower table stock to 1600 in the stock location.
2. Make VE2 and VE3 with the 5kpa breaks the same as V1 starting a 20kPa and the maximium sized tables (17X17).
3. Make VE2 with 200RPM increments for the full table. This should take you from 1600 to 4400 RPM with 5kPa breaks.
4. Start VE3 with 200RPM increments then jump to 400RPM to use the whole table with 5kPa breaks. With this you could run 200RPM increments to 6k then 400RPM increments and max out at 7600RPM or you could run to 5600RPM and then max out at 8k.

I think that most users including myself would not run their cars above around 6600RPM unless they really have it built. Also note the RPM cutoff of S_AUJP is 6600RPM right now which is what I use.

Getting consensus on the extended tables will allow me to post a Super8dm.XDF file for TP 4.0 that everybody can use. If the above scenario was used I could remove the extended table and replace it with 2. I would of course keep the original extended table for those that are not interested in the extended VE tables.

Sorry I just noticed the stock lower VE table has 10kPa breaks from 60-100kPa. I guess I would still add the 5kPa breaks in the lower table and follow the same philosophy as the post above.

It should be noted that the LT1 bins use a 5kPa break along with a 200RPM break from 400-4000RPM then they jump to 500RPM with 5kPa breaks from 20kPa to 100kPa in their VE tables.

NOTE:

It was pointed out that the super AUJP version 3 files with the new upper VE table had the wrong values. RBob used values from a binary other than AUJP. I should have corrected these values before uploading the v3 of these binaries. I didn't. HOWEVER, I have now corrected the problem. Moates' file manager doesn't allow me to delete or overwrite files. So, I had to upload the files using upper case instead of the previously used lower case.

The NEW files have the name in capital letters and the old files with inappropriate VE values are in lower case letters.

For Example:
New File = S_AUJP_v3.zip
Old File = s_aujp_v3.zip

Also, the date is there. 3/29 is the correct date.

Tim

Re: S_AUJP Version 3

With this thread now being over two years since last postings occurred, was Version 4 of the super AUJP chip with the split VE tables ever finalized and posted?
