Hmm.

My motor runs with about 20 IAC steps at idle (725 RPM; I lowered it a bit). The fuel pressure is still at the factory setting, since I haven't tried tuning WOT yet... the motor still needs broken in before I can romp on it.

What's considered a short PW at idle? I think I'm somewhere around 2.2-2.4 ms. What if we could enable injector "single fire" mode at idle to lengthen the pulse widths?
