Seeking PROM info

I can't pull codes/scan information from my ECM. It's a GM reman and don't think that it belongs in the car.

An 88 Trans AM, with a 5.7 and 3.27's, should have 16083286 and 3287AKXY or 16083292 and 3294AKXZ according to the FAQ. The numbers on my Prom don't match those. In fact, they don't match anything else on the whole TPI prom list for either a Camaro or a Firebird.

I have no idea what these #'s are refrencing, so here's everything that was on the prom:

The chip is a Delco AKXZ3294. It has these other numbers/letters on the sticker - 16064300, 27C128, D5012AC, U7460045X

The two other chips have the following #'s on them. First chip: 16055375 - 8747. Second chip: 16055376-8742.

Anyone have any ideas? I need to know if the ECM doesn't belong to my car and if so, what car it came from so I can read data from it. The Solus I tried using displayed com error whenever I would try to get any info. As of right now, all I'm trying to do is data log so I can figure out what I want to change first.

This appears to be the correct one for your car if it is still a MAF setup but some more digging might be needed to confirm the rear gear code etc.

Actually look in the sticky on top under the prom burning guide.
All the info like this can be located easily now.

Good news is that the chip in our car/ECM is correct. Taking the 4 char BCC and the 4 number code and switching them matches up in your post:
AKXZ3294/3294AKXZ

And, that appears to be the proper BCC for your vehicle:

BCC= AKXZ3294
Engine size= 5.7 Trans Type= Auto trans
ECM/PCM: ECM #01227165
With GW6 AXLE, REAR, 3.27 RATIO
With L98 5.7L GAS 8 CYL MFI
With MD8 AUTO 4 SPD THM 700 R4

Just need to take your time (IE: relax) when trying to get data logging going. It can be trying until it works. Too many little things can get in the way. . .

RBob.

Thanks for the replies and all these meaningless numbers (to me at least, I'm sure I will learn what they all mean soon enough ).

I'm trying to use a Snap-on MT2500 to do a piliminary read before I go gunho and get myself the cable/WINaldl for my soon to be carputer. The only problem is that whenever it tries to communicate with the ECM, it has a com error. I have no idea why. None of the wires are open (I checked earlier today with a multimeter), they're all on the right pin, etc.

I was hoping that the ECM was wrong so that I would have a simple fix.
