Where can I get a replacement wide band o2 sensor for the innovate wide unit???? I am getting a error 02 heater open message..... someone had mentioned a cheaper place to buy than innovate?????

FYI:

I FOUND OUT THAT OIL FUMES OR PAINT FUMES WILL KILL THE WB 02 SENSOR. I BELIEVE IT IS VENTED TO OUTSIDE AIR.

i had both. car in paint shop and oil filter bracket(??) was leaking oil past seal onto ext. pipes. DOA. i think it was $80. Innovate.

Cheapest way? Hook up at an Audi or VW dealer.

Second cheappest way? Googe it, the part number comes up at several vendors for tons less than Innovate charges

*CLOSELY* inspect the harness to sensor connector. Any corrosion will generate that error message. Be sure that connector is not exposed to the elements, without weatherproofing the wires where they go into the harness side connector.

"Error 02" could also be the sensor is to hot. Innovate sells a heat shield or you could try place the sensor further back on the exhaust.

ps VW retailer over here charge 500$ for a sensor

I dont know if you are aware of their site, but,
there is a wealth of information on their site. If you dont have their manuals, you can download them I think, and it tells alot about fabbing up yourself a heatshield etc.

As Jeremy said. A VW sensor is the one.

It is $38.29 + shipping. Mine totalled $46.24 shipped to my door. I ordered it a month ago and it has been operating every single day in my STI since I installed it ... which was about 3 weeks ago.

one more. Innovate sells a stainless bung. i believe the one that is shipped is steal. after 1.5 years it seized and threads in 02 stripped.

that connection does corrode but cleans up nice. i put a little dielectric grease on weatherpack connection.

I always put a dab of antisieze on the threads before I screw it into the bung. Hopefully it will last longer.

02 sensors can be killed by any foreign substance. i think rtv may be a bad one. if it worked for you that may be a good idea.

Yea it wont hurt if its the threads only. They ship them new with the antisieze, its just that after having it in, and out alot, it comes off.
