Clearing autoprom memory??

Hey all, I'm having a problem emulating. I had placed a post before when the new tunerpro rt and autoprom firmware updates came out. When I go to emulate the bin, I have to disconnect the ribbon cable from the ecu, then upload, verify, and emulate. Then I plug the ribbon cable back in. It works, but only for a while, then all of a sudden it stops emulating and goes to a bin I used a month ago. I know this because I view the prom id while doing this, that's how I know it changes. Then I have to pull over. shut off the car and do this all over again. seems like the autoprom is storing the bins and they aren't getting erased. Has anybody had this problem??

BTW, 747 ecm, $ 42 mask, G2 switching adapter.

Thanx for any help. Craig/mark, yous guys have input??

I'm having the same problem!

I sent my autoprom out to Craig for a firmware update, plus he swapped out the cables and such.

Are you using the USB or the serial port version?

I get the same problem with both. So I'm wondering if I need to set something up differently on my laptop.

It will work fine for about 10 mins, then the emulation will freeze, I'll get a check engine light and the car may or may not stall. If I shut down Tuner Pro RT, then restart it, the car I can upload the changes and it will be ok.

And I thought it was just me!

Is there another file I need to download for the com ports or something simple like that?????

btw, it does it on any car I try to do any tuning on. $8D, 730 ecm

open to suggestions

-jason

I'm using the the usb version. Have the newer chipin in. To e honest, it did't do it before the firmware update and the newer tunerpro update. Before those 2, I just couldn't emulate and datalog at the same time. But I am having the same problem. BTW, I am using a 747 ecm, $42 mask.

Last I knew, Craig gets kind of POed when users of his products report bugs on open forums. He would rather you kept it on the down low and sent him an email direct. Good comments are OK though on the open forums.
Yeah, you will get SES lights with his design sometimes. It is designed to work most of the time.......not all the time. Anyway, Craig seems to be VERY good about supporting his products so shoot him an email and he could fix it for ya.

I hear ya. Not try to po craig, but I wasn't sure if it was a bug in the software or an issue with hardware or car. Just trying to see if anybody else had the same issue.

From what I've seen, only the tbi ecms seem to consistantly have this problem. As to the root of the problem.
Hard to say. With the "tuner", the ecm, the PC, the OS, TP, AP, drivers involved. It can be difficult to narrow down.
I've got a stand alone PC running some logger software that worked fine last week. (the software) Not this week.
