I just got my TBI going in my chevelle, and I have a 747 computer, but the problem is that it is out of a 4.3 ltr Astro Van. The car runs, but cuts out at anything over 3000RPM ,and idles funny, and does various other expected things. I am in desperate need of a programmer. Anyone got an old one laying around? If I have to buy a new one, which is the most programmer for the least ammount of $? If anyone wants to help me out and get me running until I can get a programmer of my own that would kick *** as well. Email me and I will send you a BIN that I think would work ok for me.
What you could do(until you get the programmer). You could see about going to a boneyard and find a vehicle that uses the same computer(truck maybe?) and see if you can grab some of those proms, running that astro prom is definatly not good(i'm assuming you have something greater than a 4.3 v6).

LOL I have a 350 with headers and alum intake and worked heads. A little far from a v6. The boneyard that I got these from is pretty short of v8 computer controlled cars and trucks. I have like 4 747 ECU's and wiring harnesses, but no Eprom that works good. Anyone elese? maybe I could trade a TB, computer, harness, or whatever enyone elese might need for a programmer?
It sounds like you are currently running a V6 EPROM and calpak (the smaller chip). In addition to using a V8 EPROM, you will want to pick up a V8 calpak at a GM dealer. Part #16060836
I'm not sure if the V8 EPROM will even run with a V6 calpak installed in the ECM.
I bought this one. Hooks up via the paralel port. Software is DOS, but programs great. Had to set my paralel port to normal in CMOS instead of EPP to get it to work. $99 for a new (well refurbished) programmer is the best I could find.

I've had real good luck with my Pocket Programmer. Maybe someone has their URL. 3 years old an probably just shy of 600 chips.
My Needhams started acting goofy at times with anything that was win95 or newer on it.
Thou it probably did a 1,000+ chips
OK I got an old programmer from the college I go to, now I am burning the chips, but none of them seem to change anything when I plug them in . Still the same"runs good cold" runs bad hot thing going on.
