EBL: Digital Dash - 84 Vette

Is the MPG display supposed to work with the EBL?

Yes, the EBL ALDL stream can be the normal diag stream or the Digi-Dash stream. Need to set OptionWOrd3 bit 7: "DglDh - Enable Digital Dash ALDL stream" to enable the digi-dash stream. This bit is set with the provided EBL BIN.

If the ECM is in a diagnostic mode via 10K or shorted AB the Digi-Dash steam will revert back to the standard ALDL diag stream.

Jim,

You'll need to play with the factor in order to get it close to actual MPG. It gets a bit more complicated when using the VAFPR.

It is short for the EmBedded Lockers system. Which is a package of hardware, firmware & software for TBI & port injected engines. It uses the '86 through '95 MY series of TBI ECMs with a board added in. This board provides for high speed data logging, along with additional inputs such as WB's and pressure transducers.

A Windows program is provided for logging, display, and analysis. The ECM code (BIN file) is provided that has additional functionality and better code (the engine runs better).

The EBL Flash system does away with chip buring. There is Flash memory on board that contains the calibration data. This is updated via the Windows program via the same cable (provided) that is used to data log. It is an integrated package for engine management & tuning.
