I have several v6 memcals from 730's laying around, can I mod the netres on one to V8 mode and use it (with a new bin of course) on a '427 ? I am not interested in limp-home or knock filtering at this time (later on yes of course).
Any help greatly apreciated. |
I snagged these notes somewhere, but they're for using the 85 code, might be close enough to work.....
Short pin 13 on the 16 pin memcal IC underneath the
knock module. That will allow the hardware to run the injectors every 4th DRP.
Here is what your new injector timings should look like.
Remember, the minimum pulse width constants should match the abilities of your injectors. Also the injector constant will be different for PFI mode.
CODE
X CPI or PFI 1=PFI
X Use Low Bpw offset vs BPW Table
0 Sync Idle Fuel (TBI)
0 Air Manage
X Canister Purge
X Linear EGR
0 Man Trans (0=TCC)
0 700R4
Injector Flow for PFI 12.67087 Grams
Async to Sync if Map > (TBI Only) 104.4 kPa
Async to Sync if RPM > (TBI Only) 6375 RPM
Sync to Aysnc if MAP > 104.1 Kpa
Sync to Async if RPM > 6350 RPM
Sync to Async BPW<= 1.296998 Msec
Async to Sync ( Or PFI Double Fire) 1.495362 Msec

Max Aysnc PW 6.10352 Msec

Refer to the hacks in the code section of this site
The important ones to play with are:
Sync to Async BPW<= 1.296998 Msec
(Main fuel pulse min width before aysnc with DRP)
Async to Sync ( Or PFI Double Fire) 1.495362 Msec
(Main fuel pulse return to sync with DRP)
Min Aysnc PW 1.90735 Msec
(AE async pulses between main fuel DRP pulses min width)
Max Aysnc PW 6.10352 Msec
(AE async pulses between main fuel DRP pulses maximum separation)
The values and table from the previous post were set up for 29# injectors with no problems.
The AE (accel enrich) pulses should be kept in between the main sync fuel pulses. Make sure they do not fall below the minimum injector mechanical width and do not occur to close to each other or the main fuel pulses.
When in doubt use a scope. Logged data will never show you this information.....
