I NEED A LITTLE HELP PLEEEZ

Well I now have my engine in and got it started, got my FP set and it idles o.k. in gear and I can move it around o.k. But now I really need to get it tuned, I have a Moates APU1 auto prom but am struggleing with how to get it to link up and log. Anyway to make a long story short, im looking for someone in the north Georgia area that has a chassis dyno that we can make some pulls on so we can get some issues worked out. It would be really helpful it they knew or had some experiance with the AUTOPROM. I really need to get some help with this because I need to get it back on the road. I have read alot of the post in this forum but have a lot better mechanical knowledge about tuning than with the chip burning set ups. If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

i can't help you with a dyno, but i think i can with your AutoProm.

looking at it from the back side with the ZIF up there are 2 small switches to the right of the ALDL cable connector. one switch moves up & down & has 3 positions, set it in the middle position. the other switch moves side to side, set it to the closest position toward the ALDL cable connector.

if you haven't already, install TunerPro & the Motes drivers.

now with the AutoProm connected to your PC, open TunerPro, TunerPro should see the AutoProm.
if everything is going good so far, now go to "Tools" & find "Preferences", goto the "ALDL/Emulation" tab & select AutoProm in "Interface Type", tell it ok. again in "Tools" open "ALDL/Data Logging" & goto "Setup" & select the ALDL definition file your going to use. now on the right side of the ALDL Setup page, under Data Logging, click the "Select Log File For Rec/Play" & give it a name & create it.

we are almost done.
now with the AutoProm connected to your ALDL cable & the cable connected to the ALDL connector on the car, turn the key on or start the motor, at the bottom left of the ALDL Setup page tell it to Connect To ECM. bring up the TunerPro dash & you should be seeing live data.
now hit the record button & you should be recording a session.

no problem. i understand about it being over your head, a lot of this is still over my head, so no laughing from me on it.
i was were you are now & i got help here from other people. im glad to be able to pass along some of the help i have received.

for data logging, the ads file i like the best is one called FIRST THIRD GEN 1227730.ads.

for editing the bin, i use mainly use 8d_v03, 1227730_8d, & Super_8dm2, they each do some things a little different from each other.

you can find these at http://www.moates.net/fileman when Craig gets it back up, or if you want, i can e-mail them to you.
