Since my WB02 sensor failed again and am trying to determine why it dies once a tuning season I am dependent on the WU display to diagnose my AE issue. My problem may very well be mechanical and began this morning trying to rule out some areas that may affect it. I checked the TBI to intake for vac leak and none. All hoses seem Ok and are new besides. intake to manifold checked out OK. Next will verify base timing to see if dist slipped but I doubt it. WU shows 30 deg. 10 deg base is in .bin. max timing in .bin is 36. I pulled 1 deg where I got any AE KC. all new (2005) wires and acell stock repl super coil and module. Seems when I accelerate onto Xway from 25 MPH to speed the engine struggles at 2500-2900 rpms. this also was an issue last season as well that I cannot overcome. If i stay out of AE(whats up shows none as CL) then all is well and I can accellerate slowly to 80+. I am getting BLM's 128-135 below 3000 rpms last week and this week I changed the threshold for learn to 5500 rpms from I think was 3600 in stock EBL and was able to see CL BLM at higher rpm and was rich even though I pulled out 10% out of VE tables at 3600 rpm and 40 map and above. Now I see 122-124 above 3000 rpms. I also took a lot of AE out seeing I have large injs and 24 lbs FP. NO pop during AE. just breaks up under load. I am at about minimum now in both AE-TPS and AE MAP table. seems a little better but still a big problem. What can the NB02 show me? I see it drop to like 50mV during AE event. If I invoke AE and let engine break up badly if get KC and the NB02 drops to 50mV. I am at a point where I may go back to a megga dose of AE and verify that is worse. I did drop FP this morning to 22 and saw the BLMs rise everywhere to 132+. i should have internet access at hone on monday to send a .bin and a WU log of events. Anyone?

If it breaks up under load, then you may still need more AE. It could also be other issues that are causing the car to puke under load. Are your VE tables tuned there?

Also, Id hold the fuel pressure constant. That changes everything and requires you to completely retune. Id first make sure the VE table is right once you get another wideband and then go back to the AE. Youll never be able to isolate the AE issues if the VE tables are off or there is some other issue present. As long as the engien is running well and the steady state fueling is good, the AE is pretty much independant of everything else but the rest of the tune has to be good for you to isolate its effects.

yea i really need the WB functional but seems i need to move the location further back in exhaust stream. at the collector may be overheating it. i spoke to innovate directly and they say each car is differrent and sensor failure happens. they find no fault in my startup of unit so move it is the answer. that will take some time and $$$ and back to muffler shop.

as far as VE. as you may be aware i cannot use the normal calc on BPC as the tables are pegged 100. that seems to be right at 2500-2800 50 map same location the bog first begins. 2500 RPMs-2800 RPMs. my VE tables shows a few 100's there so i elevated BPC again today. should be 82 and today 119. i will check learn and see if still at 100. this morn ride to office i monitored the WU and it showed low rpm cruise about 123-125 and a few areas 138-140. i will leave the FP at 22.5 and retune VE. 25 possibly was excessive. as i stated i did have a large amount of AE in tune first ride of this season, balanced between tps-amp. with bog i decided to pull it all out and use min values. that was last week and that did not work period. what i did do this morn is pull all the AE-MAP values out cept a minimal amount. i added that all into the TPS AE and added a small amout besides. seemed to help a bit. but yet a nasty bog only at AE. slow accellerate in CL ok and a accelleration at 3000 rpms car resonds nicely. in fact if i co from CL right to PE seems not to bog as much. it is right there at a heavy load at 2400-2800 it falls flat on its face with modately brisk accelleration. i am uncertain how much TPS in % i am using at that point. will study WU and see if i can determine. possibly i need a lot of TPSAE during that event that i under anticipated.

Ronny, it may be the AE RPM multiplier table values need to be changed:

AE - RPM Multiplier %

This table controls the AE based on RPM. From what you have posted above I would increase the multiplier starting at 2200 RPM up through 3200 RPM.

In this case the AE will only be changed withon the RPM range that you change in the table. All other RPM areas will remain the same.
